Connie Jane "C.J." Harbenberger, is Steve's ex-fiancé. She and Steve almost get married in Japan during in the episode "My Best Friend's Japanese Wedding". It's possible he was with her to make D.J. jealous that she hadn't chosen him. She is portrayed by Virginia Williams.

In "DJ and Kimmy's High School Reunion" Steve tells D.J. that he is going to propose to C.J., and in "Happy New Year, Baby" he does. In “My Best Friend’s Japanese Wedding”, Steve called off the wedding because he was still deeply in love with D.J. and wanted to be with her. In "Here Comes the Sun", she does not appear but is mentioned when she takes Rose to The Smash Club, giving her an hour to hang out with Max until her Xanax wears off and she regrets what she did. She is a enemy to D.J., as Steve had feelings for her and she blames her for the wedding being called off. In season 4 she goes brunette because of the big-life changes she had.
