  • When Steve mentions that he has Alanis Morissette bumping in the car, D.J. responds "Do you know who that song is really about?" This is a reference to her 1995 hit "You Oughta Know", which has been notorious over the years due to the mystery of the ex-lover the song is about, with Dave Coulier (the actor who portrays Joey Gladstone) among the many suspects.
  • At the point when Stephanie challenges D.J. to a rematch of the amusement "Twister," she certainly comments, "get ready to get turned, sister." This is a reference to the 1980s substantial metal 'hair band' Twisted Sister.
