Just before Picture Day, D.J. is terrified to learn that Jackson has dyed his hair blue and wears ripped clothing, acting rebellious in a similar manner to Rocki and doing things such as talking back and making his room a pigsty. As his final act of rebellion, he moves his entire bedroom outside so he doesn't have to abide by D.J.'s rules and is stuck in a thunderstorm. Talking to him, D.J. realizes Jackson has feelings for Rocki and is only acting that way to impress her as the two make up and go back inside. On the day of Picture Day, Jackson reverts back to his old persona and stands up to Rocki, telling her that they can no longer hang out if she can't accept him for the great and respectful guy he is. Rocki is impressed that Jackson stood up to her but punches him in the arm again when he calls her sweet.
Stephanie and Jimmy interview several surrogates such as a surrogate who is already pregnant, an ex-convict, a chainsmoker, and even Gia but find none of them are compatible. Just as Stephanie appears to give up hope, D.J. reveals that Kimmy was a compatible surrogate after a doctor's visit and after her surprise and shock settles, Stephanie is happy over Kimmy's offer to carry her and Jimmy's child.
Ramona does a report on her family ancestry and learns that she is French on Kimmy's side and Jewish on Fernando's side. Much to her horror, Kimmy and Fernando go overboard on embracing their heritage and begin acting in stereotypical French and Jewish fashion.
